It was unanimously decided in the discussion of the Tamil parties to create an operational mechanism involving intellectuals and civil society representatives to reach a consensus regarding the meeting of the Tamil parties with President Ranil Wickremesinghe.
After the meeting with the Chancellor it was decided to meet again to discuss the course of the meeting.
The meeting lasted till ten o’clock at night
The discussion started at Saraswati Mandapam on Ramanathan Road, Jaffna at 6.30 pm on Sunday and lasted till 10 pm at the arrangement of Tamil National Right to Life Movement President Sivakaran.
The position of the Tamil side
This joint discussion was held between the leaders of political parties and ideologues regarding the Tamil side’s approach to the solution of the ethnic problem between the Sri Lankan government and the Tamil side.

Civil society representatives including Mavai Senathiraja, MA Sumandran, Suresh Premachandran, P. Aingaranesan P. Kajadeepan, K. Arunthavapalan, KP Thavarasa, editors-in-chief of newspapers and political analysts also participated in the discussion.
