The Ranji Trophy, India’s historic local cricket series, is scheduled to be played in two parts this year. The 2021-22 season was scheduled to start in January last year after the previous 2020-21 Ranji Trophy season was canceled due to corona. But due to the same problem the series was postponed indefinitely again.

As a result, the future of many thousands of local cricketers is in question and their daily lives are deteriorating. But in the same situation, the BCCI, which has been spearheading the multi-billion rupee IPL series alone, is breaking all barriers and building a successful one.

Ranji Cup Table:
As a result, many former players have been harshly critical of the BCCI on their social media sites. In particular, India’s legend Ravi Shastri has slammed Indian cricket for “ruining the Ranji Trophy, the backbone of Indian cricket”.

Unable to bear these subsequent questions, the BCCI has announced that it intends to host this year’s Ranji Trophy in two parts. Accordingly, this year’s Ranji Trophy league round matches will be held from February 10 to March 15. However, the knockout rounds of the trophy will be held from May 30 to June 26, following the IPL 2022 series.

Last Chance:
It is common for star players who normally play for the Indian team to regain their form by playing again in this Ranji Trophy when runs stumble due to poor form. Experienced players Ajinkya Rahane and Pujara, who are currently in poor form in the Indian team, are expected to play in the Ranji Trophy.

BCCI President Saurav Ganguly has hinted that Rahane and Pujara will get a chance in the Indian squad for the two-match Test series against Sri Lanka in March only if they play well in the series.

What he has said about this is as follows. “He’s the best players. I hope they play in this Ranji Trophy and accumulate more runs. They have no problem playing for India after playing in the Ranji Trophy. The Ranji Trophy is a huge series. This series is a great opportunity for those who have not played in the ODI and T20 Indian team already. ”
