Dubai’s innings of 526 balls included 29 fours and a six. Patidhara hit 23 fours off 327 balls. Akshat Raghuvanshi (50) is another leading scorer for Madhya Pradesh. The others out are Himanshu Mandri (23), Shubham Sharma (11) and captain Aditya Srivastava (9). Mihir Hirwani is at the crease with Dubai not scoring a run. Among the Kerala bowlers, Jalaj Saxena took two wickets while NP Basil and Sijomon Joseph took one wicket each.
Batting after the toss, Madhya Pradesh were 88 for two at one stage. However, the Dubey-Patidhar duo added 277 for the third wicket before he was bowled out for a huge score. The Saxena, who knocked out Patidhar at 365, gave Kerala a slight relief. He was squeezing Patidhar in front of the wicket. However, Kerala were disappointed as Dubai remained unbeaten at the crease and completed a double century.
Rahane Golden Deck
Ajinkya Rahane, who missed out on a place in the Indian Test team, was a disaster for Mumbai in the first innings of the Ranji Trophy. He left the crease as the Golden Deck in Elite Group D. Rahane was caught by G Poddar off Rajesh Mohanty. However, this did not significantly affect Mumbai.
In reply to Odisha’s first innings score of 284, Mumbai were 259 for three at stumps on the second day. With seven wickets in hand, Mumbai need just 25 more runs to catch up with Odisha. Sarfaraz Khan (107 *) smashed a century and Arman Jaffer (77) and skipper Prithviraj Shah (53 *) put Mumbai ahead.
