Alur (Andhra Pradesh): Bengal batted poorly in the Ranji Trophy semi-final against Madhya Pradesh. At stumps on the second day, Bengal were 197 for five in the first innings.

Shahbaz Ahmed (72 off 149 balls) and Manoj Tiwary (84 off 182 balls) were at the crease. Madhya Pradesh ended the first innings with 341 runs. Bengal openers Abhishek Raman and Sudeep Kumar Gharami were out for zero. Skipper and opener Abhimanyu Ishwaran (22), Anushtap Majumdar (four) and Abhishek Poral (nine) were out.

For Madhya Pradesh, opener and wicket-keeper Himanshu Mantri (165 off 327 balls, including a six and 19 fours) hit a century. Akshat Raghuvanshi hit a half-century (63 off 81 balls, including two sixes and eight fours).

Uttar Pradesh are sweating in another semi-final against Mumbai in Bengaluru. At stumps on the second day, they were 25 for two. Karan Sharma (10) and Madhav Kaushik (11) are at the crease. Samarth Singh (0) and Priyam Garg (three) were out. Mumbai scored 393 in the first innings.

Hardik Tamore (115) and opener Jaiswal Jaiswal (100) were the top scorers for the team. Shams Mulani (50 off 130 balls) shone with a half-century. For Uttar Pradesh, Karan Sharma took four wickets and Saurabh Kumar three.
