Ahmedabad: Cheteshwar Pujara with the fastest batting in the Ranji Trophy after being dropped from the Indian Test Team. Pujara was dismissed for 91 off 83 balls in the second innings against Mumbai. Pujara scored 91 runs with 16 fours and a six. Pujara was out for zero in Saurashtra’s first innings.

Pujara and Rahane have been left out of the squad for the Test series against Sri Lanka due to poor form. The selectors had asked both of them to regain form by playing in domestic matches, including the Ranji Trophy. Rahane scored a century in the first innings against Saurashtra.
Rahane and Pujara were not considered when the selectors announced their squad for the Test series against Sri Lanka yesterday. Both were sure to lose their places following their poor performance in the series against South Africa.
