Ranveer Singh’s ‘Dhurandhar’ Surpasses ₹290 Crore, Outpaces ‘Saiyaara’ at Box Office

A new Bollywood action-thriller is dominating the Indian box office. Ranveer Singh’s “Dhurandhar” has already exceeded ₹290 crore in earnings, surpassing the collections of the July release, “Saiyaara,” and solidifying its position as a major blockbuster.

‘Dhurandhar’ Continues Dominant Run

The star-studded film, which premiered on December 5, continues to draw large audiences both domestically and internationally. According to a report by Sacnilk.com, “Dhurandhar” garnered ₹50.9 crore (nett) in India on its second Saturday, December 13, based on early estimates. This impressive figure demonstrates sustained audience interest in the film.

The film’s overall occupancy rate for Hindi language screenings reached 66.09 percent on its ninth day in theaters. Prior to this, “Dhurandhar” had already minted ₹207.25 crore in its first week and collected an additional ₹32.5 crore on Day 8.

Box Office Battle: ‘Dhurandhar’ vs. ‘Saiyaara’

With its latest earnings, “Dhurandhar” has demonstrably outperformed Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda’s “Saiyaara.” The latter collected ₹26.5 crore (nett) in India on its ninth day of release. “Saiyaara,” which also featured Rajesh Kumar and Varun Badola, ultimately earned a total of ₹329.2 crore in the domestic market.

“Dhurandhar” is quickly closing the gap, and industry analysts predict continued strong performance in the coming weeks.

A Deep Dive into the Underworld Saga

Directed by Aditya Dhar, “Dhurandhar” is described as an underworld saga set against the backdrop of a troubled Pakistani town. The film delves into the intricate connections between criminals, informants, and operatives. The cast boasts a remarkable ensemble including Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun, R Madhavan, and Rakesh Bedi.

The movie is a collaborative production between Aditya Dhar and his brother Lokesh Dhar’s B62 Studios, and Jyoti Deshpande of Jio Studios.
