A complaint was filed against the American artist on Tuesday 29 October in Los Angeles, for acts dating back to 2016, during which the complainant was allegedly under the influence of substances.
The #Metoo wave in the music industry is intensifying. After P. Diddy, accused by hundreds of victims of sexual violence, the rapper and hip-hop producer Metro Bloomin finds himself in the crosshairs of justice. In a complaint filed in a Los Angeles court, Vanessa LeMaistre, 38, accuses him of raping her after joining him in a recording studio in California around September 2016, reports the Washington Post.
The plaintiff said she allegedly arrived at the studio and was given an alcoholic beverage, the document states. She also allegedly took a portion of Xanax, an antidepressant she was prescribed after the death of her 9-month-old son that same year. While sitting on the couch and listening to the producer make music, she reportedly fainted. She then claims to have woken up in another place, realizing that Metro Boomin, Leland Wayne by name, was raping her.
A state of semi-consciousness
The dossier shows that Vanessa LeMaistre declared that she was in a state of semi-consciousness, causing her several discomforts while Metro Boomin continued to rape her. Several weeks later, the complainant said she learned she was pregnant and had an abortion. She claims not to have had any other sexual intercourse during the period and therefore attributes her pregnancy to the rape she allegedly suffered.
Vanessa LeMaistre also accuses Metro Bloomin of having evoked this rape in the lyrics of a song, which the rapper categorically denies. The music in question has the title Rap saved me, and was released in 2017. The rapper says these words: “She took a Xanny and then passed out. I come from the sewer, I can’t change. From the bottom, rap saved me. It’s driving me crazy, make me a baby.»
Metro Boomin’s lawyers recalled the complaint”pure scam» and assured that the artist “will file a complaint for malicious prosecution once you win“. Last February, the producer was nominated at the Grammy Awards as producer of the year and described as “the most in-demand rap producer» in the music industry. Among his most famous collaborators are Future, Young Thug, The Weeknd and Travis Scott.
