The Southern District Attorney’s Office (Criminal) today (Sunday) filed an indictment in the Beer Sheva District Court against Dekel Sheshunkar, a 31-year-old southern resident, which includes seven charges against seven different complainants, attributing to him six offenses of act that could spread illness and rape. As well as other offenses of indecent acts and receiving anything fraudulently.
According to the indictment, between the years 2021-2013, Shunkar recognized the complainants, one of whom was a 13-year-old minor in 2013, and some with special needs. He got to know the complainants in various ways, including through social networks, mutual acquaintances and in other ways.
In some cases, he used to locate women who needed help, presenting a false impression that he intended to help them financially, emotionally and treat them. He did so while impersonating, among others, a law specialist in the field of medical malpractice, an emotional therapist and a Krav Maga instructor. After getting to know the complainants and gaining their trust, he used to arrange to meet with them, and then allegedly commit serious sexual offenses with them, in some cases by force, and in some cases while begging him to stop his actions, and repel him, but to no avail.
The indictment stated that Schonker, who is a carrier of the AIDS virus, did not inform the complainants about his carrier and did not even use contraception while committing the acts. In addition, the prosecution requested that he be detained until the end of the legal proceedings against him.
About two weeks ago, S., one of the complainants against him, spoke with Golan Yokfaz and Anat Dudidov on 103FM. She said Shunkar introduced himself as a lawyer specializing in medical malpractice and during a conversation with him he claimed he was teaching Krav Maga and asked her permission to teach her to defend herself.
“I agreed that I did not have the tools to defend myself when such a thing happened to me in the future, if it happened,” she said in an interview. “He introduced me to the situations he wanted to teach, and ostensibly showed me how to defend myself from the situation. I tried to resist and get his hands out of my panties, and when he tried to force my hand into his penis, I pushed him. He tried several times and eventually gave up.”
