A group of extortionists was detained in Krasnodar, who demanded 30 million rubles. from the candidate for deputy of the State Duma Gennady Bichev under the pretext of settling the scandalous situation with the girl who was allegedly sexually abused by him. A candidate from the Party of Freedom and Justice from the Dmitrovsky single-mandate district of the Moscow region came to Krasnodar to negotiate with a local entrepreneur on financing the election campaign, but it turned out that the story with the sponsor was a bait for scammers.
The Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia (TFR) in the Krasnodar Territory has opened a criminal case against three residents of Krasnodar aged 28 to 40 years, as well as a 22-year-old girl, according to the Investigative Directorate of the TFR and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. The attackers are accused of attempted fraud on an especially large scale (part 3 of article 30, part 4 of article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), and the girl is also accused of knowingly false denunciation (part 3 of article 306 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), the accused are imprisoned into custody. The scammers have chosen as their victim a candidate for the State Duma of the Russian Federation, the leader of one of the Russian social movements, according to representatives of law enforcement agencies.
According to Kommersant’s information, we are talking about 60-year-old Gennady Bichev, who was nominated as a candidate for State Duma deputy in the Dmitrovsky single-mandate constituency No. 118 of the Moscow region from the Party of Freedom and Justice.
Since 2020, Mr. Bichev has been the head of the All-Russian political movement “People’s Choice of Russia”.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the politician was familiar with two residents of Krasnodar, who knew that he was a well-known public figure. During the Duma election campaign, according to the investigators, Mr. Bichev’s acquaintances were intent on extorting money from him under the threat of disseminating incriminating information.
To play out the invented scenario, the attackers persuaded Gennady Bichev to come to Krasnodar, ostensibly for informal communication with a large entrepreneur, who, according to the men, is ready to provide 20 million rubles. to finance the election campaign of a candidate. The meeting with the “entrepreneur” and his accomplices took place on August 23 in one of the hotels in Krasnodar. A girl came to the event, posing as a journalist, promising to write an interview with Mr. Bichev.
During the dinner, the criminals added medicinal substances to the drinks consumed by the candidate for deputy, which, according to the investigation, stimulate sexual desire. After dinner, Gennady Bichev and the false journalist went up to his hotel room, where they stayed for several hours. Soon after the girl left, her accomplices came to the candidate’s room and reported that their friend had allegedly written a statement to the police that Gennady Bichev had raped her. As evidence, the attackers showed the candidate a video recording in which the “rape victim” allegedly gave testimony at the Interior Ministry department (in fact, the recording was staged).
The men explained that the only way to stop the rape case is to bribe high-ranking officials of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which requires 30 million rubles.
Since Gennady Bichev refused to give the money to the extortionists, the next day the girl turned to the TFR with a statement of rape, and her accomplices reduced the amount of remuneration to 15 million rubles. However, the candidate reported the situation to law enforcement agencies, and the attackers were detained.
It was not possible to get a comment from the representatives of the “Party of Freedom and Justice”: the contact number of the central office was not available, the leader of the party list Maksim Shevchenko explained that the situation, in his opinion, had nothing to do with the activities of the party. The office of the People’s Choice of Russia movement did not respond to Kommersant’s request; the telephone of the Uralburservice company, owned by Mr. Bichev, did not answer.
