Kochi: Actor Saiju Kurup has been questioned by the Kochi police in a case against Vijay Babu for allegedly raping a young actress. The action is on the suspicion that he helped Vijay Babu who went into hiding abroad. The statement was taken yesterday.
Saiju Kurup said that he had helped Vijaybabu before the case was filed against him. The rape complaint was not known. When he went to Dubai, his family told him to give the credit card to Vijay Babu. Vijay Babu’s wife had given Vijay’s credit card during his trip to Dubai. That’s it. The case was reported to the media after the card was issued. Saiju Kurup said yesterday that he had shown the travel documents to the police.
Vijay Babu’s anticipatory bail application was postponed to Tuesday on a rape complaint filed by the actress. The ban on the arrest of Vijay Babu continues. The court directed Vijay Babu not to contact the complainant or try to influence them and to co-operate fully with the investigation. The prosecution also told the court that Vijay Babu had appeared before the investigating officer and further questioning was required. The court adjourned the case till Tuesday.
