The bench of Supreme Court Justices Bela M Trivedi and Satish Chandra Sharma, giving relief to actor Siddiqui, has issued a notice to the Kerala government and the victim in the case, seeking a reply within two weeks.

What did SC say while granting anticipatory bail to Siddiqui?

According to news agency PTI report, the bench said, ‘In the meantime, it is directed that in the event of the arrest of the petitioner in connection with crime number 1192/2024 of the Museum Police Station, Thiruvananthapuram, he shall be liable to the further punishment imposed by the trial court. Will be released on bail subject to conditions and will be asked to join the investigation and appear before the investigating officer by the next date of hearing.

Kerala Police had issued a lookout notice against Siddiqui

After Siddique’s disappearance, Kerala Police had issued a lookout notice with his photograph, which appeared in various newspapers. The notice said he is facing charges under sections 376 (rape) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) in the Museum police station case in Thiruvananthapuram.
