Kolkata’s star performers have also protested. They have taken to social media about the issue. Bollywood stars have also joined in on this issue. A number of Bollywood stars demanded strict punishment of the rapist by posting on social media.
Parineeti Chopra wrote in a post on her Instagram story, ‘This is hard for you to read. So imagine what happened to the girl. Horrible, awful. Let him (the rapist) be hanged.’
Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut has also spoken out on the matter. In an Instagram post, the actress wrote, ‘The murder of a female doctor at RG Kar Medical College in Kolkata is terrible, horrible. The semi-naked body of the doctor was recovered from the seminar hall of the hospital last Friday morning. He was horribly murdered. He has multiple bruises on his body. According to the autopsy report, she was murdered after being raped. Hopefully, this case will be handed over to CBI. Let the attacker be severely punished.’
Actress Sonakshi Sinha is also not silent. He posted this on his Instagram. The actress wrote, “This is not only the problem of the doctors of RG Kar Medical College. Realize once, a woman is not safe even in her workplace. It is no less than Delhi’s Nirbhaya. After this incident (Nirbhaya) the leaders said, ‘A woman should not go on the streets at night.’ It can happen anytime anywhere. So take it seriously. Punish the offender in a way that sets an example.”
