She was full of eyes. American rapper Doja Cat has already marked Paris Fashion Week this Monday by arriving at the parade of the Schiaparelli brand of which she was the muse. Her look, made up of 30,000 Swarovski crystals and dubbed “Doja’s Inferno”, took five hours to complete, reports the BBC.
The crystals were added one by one by hand, as was the body paint used to complete the illusion. The rest of Doja Cat’s outfit consisted of a silk bustier, a skirt covered in lacquered wooden beads and red boots, reports CNN.
It was directed by Schiaparelli’s creative director and makeup artist Pat McGrath. She notably declared that the artist had “sublime patience” and that the final rendering was “a masterpiece of magical and fascinating sparkling brilliance”. She later posted a video on Instagram in which we can see the long process of making the outfit and makeup.
The Schiaparelli brand has already attracted attention during this edition of Fashion Week, since it is at the origin of the “animal dresses” worn by several stars. Naomi Campbell notably displayed herself wearing a dress adorned with a bear’s head, Kylie Jenner with a lion’s head.
