Rapper San E (39, real name Jeong San), who was charged with assault, apologized to the victim.

On the 19th, San E announced through the law firm Gwangya, “I bow my head and apologize to the victim of my recent assault incident.”

He continued, “I had no choice but to first express my apology to the victim through a statement, but I would like to meet the victim in person and ask for forgiveness.” He added, “I apologize to the many people who were disappointed because of me.”

Attorney Yang Tae-jeong, San’s legal representative, said, “We will actively cooperate with the investigation, and we will apologize to the victim as soon as possible and do our best to recover the damages.”

San-E was booked on the 17th at Mapo Police Station in Seoul on charges of special assault. He is accused of assaulting pedestrian A with a cell phone and telling him to “pull your bicycle straight” at a park in Mangwon-dong, Mapo-gu at around 8:30 PM on the 28th of last month.

Police reported that there was a mutual assault and charged San-i’s father and Mr. A, who were present at the scene with San-i, with assault. Police said that the claims of both sides were conflicting and that they would reveal the truth through further investigation.

San E debuted in 2010 and received much love from the public with songs such as “Story of a Person I Know,” “A Midsummer Night’s Sweetness,” and “Me You.” He became known for appearing as a producer on Mnet’s hip-hop survival programs “Show Me the Money” and “High School Rapper.”
