This Fiat 8V Berlinetta Zagato is one of 25 examples produced with bodywork made by Zagato and probably the only one equipped with the Type 104.004 competition engine.

The 1,996cc 70° V8 engine, with two valves per cylinder and two four-cylinder Weber carburettors, has an increased compression ratio to 8.75:1 and maximum power output of an impressive 127 hp (CUNA), surpassing the 105 hp of the base model; With that power and four-speed manual gearbox, the Fiat 8V Berlinetta Zagato is capable of exceeding 200 km/h, making it the only Fiat produced with a V8 engine in the history of the Italian company.

In addition to being an extremely rare and powerful car, the example sold also has the famous wavy roof typical of Carrozzeria Zagato from the 1950s.

This particular Fiat 8V Berlinetta Zagato also has numerous awards won at the Villa d’Este and the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, as well as having undergone thirty years of continuous maintenance and three years of meticulous restoration.

It is important to note that there are other historic and extremely valuable Fiats that may be worth even more than this 8V, such as the 1954 Fiat Turbina, powered by a turbine like an airplane, and the famous 1924 Fiat Mefistofele, which hit the Italian world land speed record, reaching 234.98 km/h.
