The fever unleashed by the new The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom it’s through the roof. And joining the hype now we have to Tim Stamperco-founder of the famous developer Rarewho shared a photo of one of the most important pieces in his personal collection: A prototype cartridge The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for Nintendo 64.
This cartridge is one of the few produced for the exhibition of the game in the remembered «Shoshinkai» Space Worlda popular expo organized by Nintendo —back in the nineties— to show their new releases in Japan. This version is one of the “Holy Grails” of gamer collecting, not only because of the cartridge itself —which has a look different from commercials—but because the “build» or version of the game is also different from the one released in stores in 1998.
Here it is… the 1997 Spaceworld ‘Zelda Ocarina Of Time’ original show cart, not overdumped, not reconstructed, the real deal ????️#intimateworld #n64 #switch #nintendo #zelda #ocarinaoftime #mario64 #starfox #gamecube pic.twitter.com/XQ1mfl3Vou

And as expected, fans of the retro scene, far from being excited, went out to protest on social networks. Because? Well, because, according to them, Stamper would be obliged to “dump” the cartridge to copy the information and then share it with the retro community on the Internet.
Several tweeters have already branded the founder of Rare as “traitorous and selfish”, even though this cartridge was entrusted confidentially by Nintendo to only a handful of strategic partners, which would cause problems for Stamper if he listened to these critics.
