Unknown photos, documenting the deportation of Jews from Germany during the Holocaust, were recently discovered in a German archive and are being revealed today (Friday) for the first time. The photos were taken secretly by an amateur photographer, a Jew, who risked his life for this purpose, and they document the deportation of the Jews of the city of Breslau in Germany (today Wrocław in Poland). 12 of the photos were taken in November 1941 and another photo was taken in April 1942. The German research project LastSeen# of the Free University of Berlin, which documents hundreds of photos of divorces from the Holocaust era, has published the photos on its website ahead of International Holocaust Remembrance Day, which will be celebrated tomorrow, and is asking for the public’s help in identifying those photographed.
