The 42-year-old specialist commented on the upcoming game at a press conference dedicated to tomorrow’s Europa League match against Sheriff:
“We won away. They came to Baku with a different motivation. They will try to win. We are also well prepared. We just need to show our preparation in the game. We are expecting a more intense game than in Moldova. We would like to win in the first half. And take the lead.”
– Is the team preparing for the penalty shootout?
– We are not preparing for a penalty shootout. I don’t like it. But we have to be ready for everything. Even if we lost by 1, 2 goals, I would say so. We would like to go through to the next stage after 180 minutes.
– Will Zira take to the field to beat Sheriff or to win?
– I will avoid questions about the game strategy. I will not share the game plan. Of course, we have an advantage. This will affect both teams. We understand that the opponent will be ready. This is an experienced team. They will want to change the result in their favor. We also have our own plan.
