In April 2021, MBBS students Naveen Razak and Janaki Omkumar from Thrissur Medical College danced to a lively video of the song Ra Ra Raspatin. It quickly went viral on social media. Dressed in blue uniforms, they broke up and danced amidst the hustle and bustle of study. They danced from the empty veranda of the college. The 30-second long reel was shared. The video was viewed by millions.
The steps of the two who were very confident and the steps that Naveen finally raises his eyebrows were enjoyable. But this video later led to various discussions. The controversy was sparked by a Facebook post mixed with communal hatred. The post was about the religions of Janaki and Naveen. But Naveen and Janaki bravely ignored the allegations. Many took up the Rasputin Challenge in support of them. This video is currently on the BBC’s viral video list.
