South African batsman Van der Duchen has said that the IPL was the main reason for India’s defeat in the Delhi T20 match.
Batting first, India scored 211 for 4 in 20 overs. Ishant Kishan scored 76 and Shreyas Iyer 36 while Pandya hit 31 off 12 balls with 3 sixes and 2 fours. South Africa won by 212 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in 19.1 overs. At the end of the 11th over, the South African team was stumbling with 92 runs for the loss of 3 wickets. Miller and Van der Duchen played aggressively in the final stages of the game and were instrumental in the victory. Dussen was unbeaten on 75 off 46 balls with five sixes and seven fours, while Miller was unbeaten on 64 off 31 balls with five sixes and four fours. Both scored 131 for the 4th wicket. Miller was chosen as the man of the match.
South African midfielder Patter van der Duchen said after the game:
I have watched a lot of IPL matches. Although I did not get a chance to play in more matches, I was somewhat aware of what the Indian bowlers would do. I have been here for two months for the IPL 2022 match. This sun, this environment is something I am used to. Not only me, a lot of South African players have played in the IPL. Dusen, 33, played for Rajasthan in three matches in this year’s IPL.
