CHENNAI: The food department has ordered the officials to take action against the employees who refuse to supply the products to the card holders while the scheme of buying products at any ration shop is in effect.
Migrant workers can buy goods from any ration shops in any state, ‘one country; The central government implemented the ‘One Ration Card’ scheme. Tamil Nadu joined this scheme on 1st Oct 2020.
As an additional service, Tamil Nadu cardholders are also provided the facility to purchase products from any ration shop across the state. Thus, even if the address changes, you can buy the goods at the ration shop at the new location without changing the address on the card.
Complaints have arisen that some store employees do not deliver products to cardholders outside their store and engage in activities such as delivery only on the last day of the month.
In this regard, a food department official said: For each ration shop, 5 percent of the products are sent to the cardholders attached to it, along with other cardholders to purchase them.
Therefore, the officials have been ordered to inspect the shops, monitor the purchase plan in any shop, ensure uninterrupted supply of goods and take action against the employees who refuse to supply the goods.
