Nellai District Food Smuggling Prevention Unit Police Inspector Kottaichamy and police were engaged in a vehicle check at the Murugandiyur bus stand near Kadayam. They then stopped and tested a lorry that had arrived in the area. It was revealed that there were 2,655 kg of ration rice in 59 bundles. They immediately arrested 2 people in it and conducted an investigation. It was revealed that they were Chidambaranathan (age 52) from the same area and Thanga Prem (22) from Muthukrishnapperi area who had smuggled ration rice. Following this, the police arrested 2 persons. They also confiscated ration rice along with the lorry auto.
