Ration rice smuggling: 2 arrested- Dinamani

Police have arrested two persons, including an Andhra Pradesh youth, for smuggling ration rice near Tiruvallur.

The Superintendent of Police of the Civil Supplies Criminal Investigation Department has been informed that ration rice is being smuggled in and around Pallipattu in Tiruvallur district.

In that regard, the Tiruvallur District Civil Supplies Criminal Investigation Department has ordered action.

Following this, the police, including police inspector and art inspector Nandini Usha, conducted a vehicle search in the Pallipattu area.

While monitoring the area along the Andhra Pradesh border, a two-wheeler coming through the area was stopped and checked and it came to light that the ration rice had been smuggled.

Following this, Mohan (40) from Perumanallur near Pallipattu and Ganesan (38) from SO Puram Pillaiyakuppam, Chittoor district, Andhra Pradesh were arrested for smuggling ration rice. 350 kg of ration rice and a two-wheeler were seized from them. The confiscated ration rice was handed over to a commodity warehouse in Tiruvallur.
