Raveendran Pattayam: Most Large Resorts & Hotels – KERALA – GENERAL

by time news

Thodupuzha: The decision of the Revenue Department to cancel the controversial Raveendran leases in Munnar will hit the biggest resorts and hotels illegally built in the region hardest. The then Additional Tehsildar MI Raveendran issued 530 pattas in nine villages of Devikulam taluk. Most of these are in Munnar Ika Nagar. There are about 30 major resorts and hotels in the region alone. The five-storey building where the CPM Area Committee office is located is also located here.

After Ikanagar, Raveendran Pattaya is located in Pallivasal, Chinnakanal and Anaviratti areas. Most of this leasehold land, which is only owned by homeowners and cultivators, is now a major resort. It is learned that people from outside the district have encroached on the land and obtained the title. Within 45 days, 530 pattas will be inspected and the illegal ones will be canceled and the new pattas will be issued to those who are eligible. But it remains to be seen whether the lease of land and land used for commercial purposes will be revoked. In that case, the lease of the CPM Area Committee office will have to be canceled. Ten St. Raveendran Pattaya was behind the CPI’s Munnar constituency committee office. However, at the request of the party, the lease was canceled earlier. During the Assembly election campaign, the Left leaders had assured the residents of Munnar that Raveendran would cancel his license and give a new license to all. Meanwhile, there are indications that resort owners holding Raveendran Pattam may approach the court.

Concern for the common man

There are ordinary people who hold the Raveendran Pattam. They are worried about losing their bed. Many of them have mortgaged their land and taken loans from the co-operative banks in Munnar.

The government order was received yesterday. An expert team will be formed to inspect the pattas the next day. The inspection can be completed within 45 days. It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post.
