The Tamil Nadu Premier League series is currently being held in Coimbatore. In the 21st league match, Dindigul Dragons and Chepak Super Gillies clashed.

There was a lot of anticipation for the match. The reason is because Ashwin is coming to play for the first time after the IPL. Dindigul led the team.

Chepak won the toss and chose to bowl first.

Dindigul Innings:

Vishal 2 (4), Hari Nishant 1 (6) and Harihakaran 6 (7) were the first bowlers from Dindigul to run out before the end of the power play. Then Ravichandran Ashwin 25 (29) and Mani Bharti 37 (37) formed a partnership and played calmly.

In the end, Vivek Kattadi hit 61* runs from 38 balls with 4 fours and sixes. With this, the Dindigul team crossed 100 runs and added 138/5 runs.

Chepak Innings:

Openers Kaushik Gandhi 44 (38) and Jagatheesan 31 (30) both played well and formed a partnership in the Chepak team. Sasidev and Sonu Yadav added 21 (18) runs while Sathish 8 (7) and Haris Kumar 4 (6) gave a shock after getting dismissed. However, if the target was low, the Chepag team managed to win by 139/5 in 19.2 overs.

In this match, Ravichandran Ashwin conceded only 21 runs in 4 overs and took one wicket.

Ashwin is expected to use this TNPL series to practice and play a threatening role in the T20 series against the West Indies. This will increase the chances of being in the team for the T20 World Cup.
