PM Modi started membership campaign
With the renewal of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s membership of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the membership drive of the ruling party at the Centre for the year 2024 began on September 2. The drive was launched at a ceremony held at the party headquarters in the presence of BJP national president J.P. Nadda, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and several other Union ministers, officials and leaders.
After the Prime Minister, Shah, Nadda and Rajnath Singh also renewed their membership in the BJP by giving a missed call on the mobile number issued by the party.
The campaign is run every six years
Nadda said that the first phase will run till September 25, the second phase from October 1 to 15 and the third phase from October 16 to 31. He said that the third phase will be to make active members and according to the party constitution, only active members can participate in the organisation elections. The party’s membership drive is run after every six years and according to the BJP constitution, all existing members also have to renew their membership.
