Political commentator Raviv Drucker (‘News 13’) spoke today (Thursday) with Aryeh Eldad and Roni Bar-On on 103fm about the preparations for the primaries for the Likud list that will be held next week, and assessed who the candidate is expected to be the big surprise of the primaries.

According to him, “There are many, many wars, but overall it is not a range in the style in which we like to talk about the past and mention this word. The number of senior and incumbents who will be expelled is relatively limited. There is a great struggle for the top, between Barkat, Yariv Levin, Israel Katz and Eli Cohen, who is probably going to be the big surprise of the primaries.

He added: “It’s really a big mystery how he got so high. He was originally from the Likud branch in Halon, a very strong branch, but then he went to Kahlon’s Kulan and suddenly ended up in Likud. He reproduces exactly what Kahlon did – giving 100 percent personal attention to every activist, Talks to everyone, knows everyone and helps everyone endlessly.”

Later, he clarified: “To say that I know for sure who is going home would be an exaggeration, but they say that Tzachi Hanegbi’s condition is not good – even if he sees himself as a candidate for prime minister for 25 years, Bibi abandoned him a long time ago. In addition to him, Danny Danon and Yuli Edelstein struggling, and also women like Mai Golan and Keren Barak. Galit Distal is very strong, but if I had to bet, I would bet on Miri Regev.”

Regarding Gilad Sharon, the son of the late former Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, who is also running in the primaries, Drucker said: “I would be very surprised if he managed to get in, I have a hard time believing it would happen.” And he concluded: “Gideon Sa’ar is no longer in the party, or Moshe Kahlon, Gilad Erdan and Bogi Ya’alon – there is no one within the Likud who can really fight against Netanyahu.”
