Raye hits back at bots after 1.8 million sign up for Royal Albert Hall show

On Friday, October 23, 2026, Raye will perform her one-night-only orchestral concert This Symphony May Contain Hope at London’s Royal Albert Hall, where 1.8 million sign-ups for just 5,000 seats forced manual list reviews to defeat AI-driven scalper bots.

Raye Prepares Orchestral Show For Royal Albert Hall

Raye is returning to London’s historic Royal Albert Hall for a special one-night-only performance on Friday, October 23, 2026. The concert, titled This Symphony May Contain Hope, will feature the singer performing her sophomore album, This Music May Contain Hope, in full as a single cohesive body of work. She will take the stage alongside her band, The Heritage Orchestra, and Flames Collective to transform the album’s influences into an expansive live symphonic experience.

Ahead of the performance, the artist released a new orchestral rendition of an album track recorded at Abbey Road Studios with the London Symphony Orchestra, giving audiences a preview of the arrangements slated for the upcoming London date. The project builds on Raye’s previous symphonic achievements, including her 2023 My 21st Century Symphony show at the venue, which was captured in a concert film broadcast by the BBC and PBS and nominated for Best Music Film at the Grammy Awards.

AI Bots Flood Presale Sign-Up Process

The registration process was flooded with 1.8 million sign-ups competing for just 5,000 available seats. Unprecedented demand for the intimate venue triggered immediate ticketing complications.

“We received 1.8 million sign-ups for 5000 seats for This Symphony May Contain Hope. Sadly our sign-up process was overwhelmed by scalpers, using AI bots to create hundreds of thousands of fake registrations.”

The scale of the automated bot activity caught the team off guard. It is a new world we are living in now, I have never witnessed bots on this scale, Raye stated on X, emphasizing that it is so important to me that fans can buy tickets at the face value price. Reflecting on her intense career demands, she noted that she wanted “a little bit more balance” after her album dropped, focusing on “shows and rest time”. In 2026, she was also honoured by the Recording Academy with the Harry Belafonte Best Song For Social Change CEO Merit Award for “Ice Cream Man”, a raw and personal song that amplifies the voices of sexual assault survivors.

Management Uses Manual Review To Block Scalpers

Organizers opted to manually review the sign-up list to identify a shortlist of genuine supporters, abandoning standard ticketing algorithms to bypass automated exploitation.

“Therefore rather than risk opening a presale that scalpers could exploit, we felt the best and safest solution for this specific show was to manually review the sign-up list to identify a shortlist of people we believe are real fans.”

Selected individuals received their exclusive presale links and codes by email on Tuesday, October 13, at 11:45 am BST, ahead of the presale opening at noon. Anyone unable to secure a code through the curated list must wait for the remaining tickets to go on general sale on Thursday, October 15, at 10 am.
