Gaming accessory maker Razer has announced a new and unique accessory for gamers playing on their mobile device: a powerful fan that attaches to the back of the phone, keeping the temperature relatively low even in “heavy” and graphically challenging games.
The fan, named Razer Phone Cooler Chroma, comes in two versions: one is equipped with a universal grip that should fit any Android and iPhone device, while the other attaches to the back of the device using magnets that comply with Apple’s MagSafe standard. This way the fan can be attached and disconnected relatively easily, though only to iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 devices that support the technology.
The fan itself comes in a seven-wing structure and rotates at speeds of up to 6,400 revolutions per minute. It is installed inside an aluminum heat dissipation chamber, and also includes electronic control to monitor its strength. Inside were also assimilated 12 LED bulbs, the exact color of which can of course be determined through an app. One thing that the fan does not actually include is a battery: to use it, you must connect it via a USB-C cable to an external power source. The fan is supplied without a compatible power transformer.
