One of the problems that most users of mobile devices are familiar with for gaming is the high warming of the device during long or heavy games, which in turn impairs gaming performance in light of performance limitation designed to protect against overheating. This problem has led to the creation of dedicated gaming devices such as the ASUS ROG Phone 5, which come with external cooling or Lenovo Legion Phone Duel 2 which incorporates a built-in fan, but not all devices come with dedicated solutions like these.
This is where Razer’s new Cooler Chroma comes in, a TEC (Thermoelectric cooling) -based heat sink that is attached to the back of the device and uses a plate effect to create a “heat pump” that actively cools the back of the device, with the hot side cooled by a heat sink and fan. Quiet and smart with a noise level of up to 30 decibels connects to the device via Bluetooth in order to control its performance and the built-in Chroma RGB lighting (otherwise it would not have been for gaming), which comes with 12 LEDs. One major drawback in the heat sink is its need to be plugged in while using the included USB-C cable.
