The authorities may postpone the investment forum in Sochi due to the spread of coronavirus in Russia. The discussion of this option was confirmed to RBC by a source close to one of the ministries.

Two large Russian banks are also aware of the postponement of the investment forum to a later date, the newspaper notes. At the same time, the information that the event will not take place on February 17-19 was not officially confirmed – no decisions were made to postpone the forum, RBC was told in the government press service.

In the program of the Russian Investment Forum (RIF), the organizers will focus on the implementation of national projects and building up the economic potential of the regions, Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the organizing committee of the forum Dmitry Chernyshenko said in December. The event will take place on the site of the federal territory “Sirius”.

In 2020, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin instructed to postpone the investment forum in Sochi, which was planned for February 12-14, in order to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection.
