jpnn.com – NINGBO – Jonatan Christie alias Jojo said his success in reaching the final of the Badminton Asia Championships or BAC 2024 was due to God’s help.

Jojo confirmed his ticket to the final after winning the semifinals at the Ningbo Olympic Sports Center Gymnasium, Ningbo, China, Saturday (13/4) afternoon WIB, from Shi Yu Qi 18-21, 21-19, 21-12.

“It’s all thanks to God’s help, which made me able to play well. I can play with enjoyment, I can get out of the pressure and I’m definitely happy with this victory,” said Jojo, according to PP PBSI’s short statement as reported by Antara.

“In the final points I was less calm. The use of strategy and shots were not in sync. His (Shi Yu Qi) defense was also tighter. I ended up pressing first. This strategy worked,” added the 2024 All England champion.

In the BAC 2024 final tomorrow, Jojo will face the winner of the Kodai Naraoka (Japan) vs Li Shi Feng (China) match who is currently competing.

“I hope the best will appear in the final. Whatever the result, I have done the best I can,” said Jojo.

Another semifinal result, in the mixed doubles number, world number one Zheng Si Wei/Huang Ya Qiong failed at the hands of the world number four Korean duo Seo Seung Jae/Chae Yu Jung 21-9, 13-21, 16-21.

It was Zheng/Huang’s 3rd defeat from 18 meetings with Seo/Chae. (jpnn/between)
