In the written statement made by the Turkish Cypriot Pharmacists Association (KTEB), there was reaction to the statement of Tahir Serhat, Director of the Social Insurance Department.
In the statement made by the union, it was said: “The statements made by Serhat, which turned into an assassination of reputation and full of unfounded allegations, do not reflect the facts, but also target all pharmacists and our community in the eyes of society.”
“This statement is the result of an understanding that puts itself in the place of the police and the judiciary, or even sees itself above it, punishes pharmacists before the trial even takes place, and is unaware of the limits of its authority,” the statement continued as follows:
“As the entire pharmacy community, we strongly condemn these unfortunate statements, which are almost an attack on our profession, in this process where right and wrong are confused, where the punishment for lack of system is tried to be placed on the shoulders of pharmacists and physicians, where the presumption of innocence of people is trampled, and which turns into extrajudicial executions!”
