jpnn.com – JAKARTA – The General Chairman of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) Kaesang Pangarep mentioned his wife when asked by reporters whether he was ready to run as a regional head candidate in the 2024 Pilkada.
He said Sol accompanied his wife when asked by journalists when met after PSI activities in South Jakarta, Friday (2/8).
“My answer is I will accompany my wife. That’s my answer,” said Kaesang briefly.
Meanwhile, on the same occasion, PSI Secretary General Raja Juli Antoni said that Kaesang’s statement was a personal choice.
“Of course in this life there are public interests, there are personal interests. Of course, at the right time, Mas Kaesang will make a personal decision, of course he will talk to his wife, yes,” said Raja.
However, Raja continued, PSI cadres and constituents at the grassroots level recommended Kaesang to run in the Central Java Pilkada rather than DKI Jakarta.
The king also said that PSI would follow the steps of the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM) in the 2024 Pilkada, including the decision on whether or not to nominate Kaesang.
“We will really pay attention to the recommendations from KIM. Although if we look at the recommendations from constituents, the public’s expectations below, many are directing Mas Kaesang to run in Central Java rather than Jakarta. So, that means, it’s up to our friends at KIM later on what’s best,” he said.
Kaesang mentioned his wife when asked whether he was ready to run in the 2024 Regional Head Elections (Pilkada).
