Andrey Lunin has been a symbol of trust and confidence in Real’s goal post for a long time. This Ukrainian goalkeeper played a significant role in winning the league title and the Champions League last season. This time, Real tied the knot with him for a long time. Lunin will stay at the Madrid club for another 6 years.
Real confirmed Lunin’s contract extension in a statement on Friday (September 13). They said, 25-year-old Lunin will stay with Los Blancos until June 2030. Real had a previous contract with Lunin until this season.
In 2018, he moved to Santiago Bernabeu. In the first two seasons, the two La Liga teams Leganes and Real Valladolid played on the sidelines. He returned to Real again in the 2020-21 season. After Thibaut Courtois’s injury, he proved himself to be a seasoned regular eleven.
So far, Lunin has kept a clean sheet in 16 of the 48 matches played in Real’s jersey. He has won two Champions Leagues and La Liga for Spain’s traditional team. Lunin won 10 titles in total.
