Real Madrid has won the UEFA Super Cup for the sixth time in its history. In Warsaw, the Spanish club defeated Atalanta Bergamo 2-0 after a match that came to life after halftime.
Carlo Ancelotti’s men scored through Valverde (59th minute), assisted by Vinicius, and Mbappé (68th minute), on a pass from Bellingham. The Frenchman was delighted to find the back of the net for his first official match with Real.
The first half was stagnant and poor in emotions. Only a shot from Rodrygo that hit the crossbar (45th minute) woke up the stadium. But fortunately, the players returned to the pitch with better intentions. Before the Madrid side took the lead, they could thank Courtois, who made an extraordinary save from a header by Pasalic (47th minute).
A 6th Record Trophy
With now six victories in the Super Cup, Real becomes the most decorated club in this competition, which pits the winner of the Champions League against the winner of the Europa League. Barcelona and AC Milan have won five, while Liverpool has four.
