Real Madrid Halts Concerts at Santiago Bernabeu Amid Noise Complaints from Residents

by time news

Originally, the Royals wanted to make the new Estadio Santiago Bernabeu available for events. However, due to complaints from residents, this is on hold for the time being.

At the end of May, superstar Taylor Swift performed at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu, but live concerts are no longer allowed in Real Madrid’s arena for now. Complaints from locals regarding noise pollution have led the Spanish football record champion to cancel all upcoming shows.

The stadium had recently undergone extensive renovations. A retractable roof and a movable pitch were installed to enable year-round entertainment events. However, residents complain that the noise level violates city regulations. The Bernabeu is reportedly not adequately soundproofed, and the new, high-performance speakers do not meet the required standards.

“Real Madrid has decided to temporarily postpone the schedule of events and concerts at the Santiago Bernabeu,” the club announced. The decision is “part of a series of measures the club has taken to ensure strict compliance with current city regulations regarding concerts.”

In addition to the American Swift, Colombian singer Karol G performed four times in the arena over the summer. Spanish artists Dellafuente and Aitana were supposed to perform there in November and December. New dates for these events are expected to be announced soon. It remains unclear how compliance with the regulations will be ensured then.
