jpnn.com – WARSAW – Champions League defending champions Real Madrid will face Europa League holders Atalanta in the UEFA Super Cup final, which will be held at the National Stadium, Warsaw, Poland, Thursday (15/8) early morning WIB.
It is impossible to count how many times Real Madrid have appeared in the UEFA Super Cup – the early season event that brings together the Champions League winners and Europa League winners.
For Atalanta, this is the first time the Italian club has appeared in the Super Cup, after fantastically beating Bayer Leverkusen in last season’s Europa League final, 3-0.
La Dea – Atalanta’s nickname, will start the fight in Warsaw as the underdog team. a.k.a underdog. However, there is no doubt that this team can continue to surprise many people, as it did throughout the 2023/24 season.
“Madrid are a fantastic team, but we are happy to be the underdogs,” said Atalanta captain Marten de Roon.
“The same thing happened against Leverkusen, so maybe that’s a good role for us,” he added.
