Real Madrid have decided to withdraw from the bidding for River Plate star Franco Mastrantuono.
Several reports have recently indicated that Real Madrid is on the verge of signing the player.
“Franco Mastrantuono is a clear example of how haste and leaks can negatively impact the possibility of concluding deals,” Marca said.
She added, “Real Madrid believes that it is better to take a step back in the deal, rather than others taking advantage of the royal name to create auctions and bids.”
The rumours came after Real Madrid representatives showed up in Buenos Aires to watch the player, and since then, leaks have been circulating that the deal is almost certain, forcing the River Plate president to deny the news, which is what Los Blancos are also trying to do.
The Merengue’s withdrawal came in light of the presence of Manchester United and Barcelona in the same race to sign the player.
The newspaper revealed that Real Madrid had withdrawn from the deal since last June, but in recent weeks, agents from Buenos Aires tried to bring things closer with Los Blancos, but the club refused to respond to avoid getting involved again in a situation it did not seek.
