Acting Governor of Central Papua Ribka Haluk received an award from the General Elections Commission (KPU) at an event held at a hotel in Jakarta, Tuesday (2/7/2024) evening.
jpnn.comJAKARTA – Acting Governor of Central Papua Ribka Haluk received an award from the General Elections Commission (KPU) at an event held at a hotel in Jakarta, Tuesday (2/7) evening.
This award was given by the KPU because of the achievements of the Central Papua Provincial Government in successfully holding the 2024 general election. The award for regional heads in making the presidential and legislative elections a success was only given to Central Papua Province.
“This is an appreciation for all of us, the government and the community. Because from all over Indonesia, we, Central Papua (are a new province),” Haluk told reporters after the event.
“We were also surprised to receive an invitation and an award from the chairman of the Indonesian KPU to us in Central Papua Province (for) the procurement of logistics and so on.”
From this award, Haluk is also challenged to regain the KPU award by making the regional head election in his area a success this year.
“I think this form of award is our motivation. We hope for more success in the implementation of the election of governors, deputy governors and also the regents,” he said.
Haluk admitted that there were challenges in holding the 2024 Pilkada in the Central Papua region, especially since the region is a newly formed province.
“I think (the challenge) is an art and I think I hope it will produce leaders or governors, deputy governors and regents in eight districts/cities who will work for the people,” he said.
This award was given by the KPU because of the Central Papua Provincial Government’s successful achievement in holding the 2024 general election.
