DMK Circle Secretary Selvam was recently hacked to death in Madipakkam, Chennai. The mob that came near the house of the rich man, pretending to wear a shawl for him, approached the rich man and cut him down.

He was to field DMK candidate in the urban local body elections.

In this position his wife Samina was fielded as a candidate on behalf of DMK in place of wealth.

As the election results were released today, Samina, who contested in Chennai Corporation Zone 14, Ward No. 188, won by a huge margin of 2,975 votes.

He subsequently received a certificate of success.
