CHENNAI: 103.74 crore rupees have been earmarked for the reconstruction of 17 traditional buildings in various districts.
In the districts of Chennai, Madurai, Ramanathapuram, Pudukottai, Thanjavur, Coimbatore, Thiruvannamalai, Kanyakumari, Theni, Trichy and Erode, government offices and judicial offices are functioning in 17 traditional buildings. The public works department has allocated 103.74 crore rupees to renovate those buildings. Secretary Manivasan has issued an executive order. Similarly, the government has given administrative permission to build an additional tourist house at a cost of 7.63 crore rupees in Vellore and has issued an order allocating 3 crore rupees for the current financial year.
