The petition to the Riigikogu against the introduction of the car tax, the collection of signatures for which ended on August 31, was supported by a record 65,565 people, writes ERR.
In the past, no petition initiated in Estonia has received so many signatures.
“The collection of signatures has ended. As a next step, the authors of the initiative will send a petition with the collected signatures to the Riigikogu,” reads the petition page on rahvaalgatus.ee.
Veiko Luckmann, a member of the Association of Car Owners, added that the petition has also collected about 12,000 signatures on the petitsioon.ee website.
