Record auction for a painting by Picasso

Time.news – One of the masterpieces of the Spanish master Pablo Picasso, “Woman with clock“, was sold at auction on Wednesday evening for $139.3 million and Sotheby’s a New Yorkthe second figure ever reached for the artist who died 50 years ago.

The 1932 painting depicts one of the Spanish artist’s companions and muses, the French painter Marie-The’re’se Walter, and has been estimated at more than $120 million, according to Sotheby’s. The Picasso with the highest rating achieved is “Women of Algiers”which sold for $179.4 million in 2015.
