Despite the war, Rabbi Tamarin continues to work non-stop in his mission.

Towards Purim, Rabbi Tamarin realized that in order to be able to deliver parcels to all the Jews in the villages, he would have to use the Ukrainian postal services.

The messenger packed a thousand package shipments, which were sent to him ahead of time by JRNU – Chabad’s rescue center in Ukraine, and wrote on each shipment the exact address according to organized lists.

“Delivering parcels is always heart-warming to receive,” says Rabbi Tamarin, “but when you live in a remote village in Ukraine, and live under the fire of war, it is much more than that. The joy is very great.

“We included rattles, wine, Haman’s ears, a mini scroll, the Esther scroll and other Purim items in the portion deliveries.”

And that’s not all: Rabbi Tamarin sent and organized Purim parties in 53 locations. “We sent refreshments to parties, sausages, wine, bottles of juice, and more. In some places, we also organized visits by people on our behalf.”
