INFOGRAPHICS – Several cities, including Paris, Toulon, Rennes, Angers, Caen or Le Mans, have seen a record number of demonstrators march since the start of the mobilization in January.

They were at least 8500 in Pau (against 7500), 6000 in Nancy (against 6500), 5500 in Angouleme (against 4800), 2000 in Mende (against 500), according to the authorities. Orléans also had a historic day with 12.500 people in the streets.

In the big cities, Nice which had rather filled up with demonstrators until now mobilized less. With the start of the Nice Carnival but also the holidays in zone B, the people of Nice were only 5,600 (against 6,800) in the streets. Same observation at Clermont-Ferrandwhere the unions claimed 50,000 participants (against 20,000 on February 7) and 8,000 the prefecture (against 9,200), at Saint Etienne (5300 against 6200), at Grenoble (10,500 against 11,500). Marseilleeither, did not mobilize: only 12,000 people, its lowest score of the four mobilizations.

Conversely Lyon (15,800 against 10,700), Toulouse (30,000 against 24,000), Montpellier (20,000 against 11,000) fill up. To note that Montpellier also saw another demonstration of 14,000 defenders of bullfighting traditions. The rebound is linked to the presence of a more family audience, with more parents accompanied by their children in the processions.

Records broken in several cities

For its part, Rennes posts a record with 25,000 people in the streets, its best score over the four days, just like Caen with 20,000 people, Toulon with 10,000 people, Angers with 13,000 people, Mans with 14,000 people, Perpignan 15,000 people and Beziers with 10,000 people. Same as Paris where according to the Paris Police Prefecture, some 93,000 people demonstrated in the capital.
