After the experience al Circus Maximus, this year the summer season of the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma is back on the traditional stage of the Baths of Caracalla with a rich and diversified program. The opening with a title never performed in Italy in stage form, ‘Mass’ di Leonard Bernstein, entrusted to the reading of Damiano Michieletto with the direction of the master Diego Matheuz. Following the shooting of two productions: Bizet’s ‘Carmen’, directed by Jordi Bernàcer, which director Valentina Carrasco wanted to set in Mexico; and Rossini’s Hollywood-style ‘Il barbiere di Siviglia’ by Lorenzo Mariani under the direction of Stefano Montanari. The emotions of the great dance have been ensured with the evocative atmospheres of ‘Notre-Dame de Paris’ di Petit.
Also this year there was no shortage of Extras, always welcomed with enthusiasm by the public: twelve evenings of Claudio Baglioni and his ‘Twelve Note’, pop star David Garrett with the ‘Alive’ tour and the ‘Gala Roberto Bolle and Friends’. The curtain of the Teatro Costanzi will rise again on 13 September, on the great dance, with ‘Serata Preljocaj’ which celebrates one of the most creative and innovative choreographers on the international scene by staging two creations by Angelin Preljocaj: ‘Annonciation’ (1995) and ‘ Nuit Romaine ‘(2021), starring Eleonora Abbagnato and Friedemann Vogel with étoiles, principal dancers, soloists and Corps de Ballet of the Rome Opera. It will be a special evening that will combine dance and fashion, in collaboration with theHigh fashion by Maria Grazia Chiuri for the Maison Dior.
