During the tenure of the Awami League government, 28 to 42 BCS were not appointed despite receiving recommendations for appointment, 259 such people were appointed to various cadres of the civil service. They have been appointed according to the ‘National Pay Scale, 2015’ for the entry posts of various cadres of Bangladesh Civil Service.
On Wednesday (August 14), the Ministry of Public Administration issued an order in this regard.
Recruits will have to join the designated/designated office of the Ministry of Public Administration on September 1. In the absence of any further instructions from the Ministry/Department controlling the cadre, he will join the concerned Ministry/Department on the said date. If he does not join on the scheduled date, he will be deemed not to agree to join the service and the appointment letter will be cancelled, the notification said.
According to the recruitment conditions, seniority is determined according to the merit order of the Public Works Commission. Therefore, in order to preserve the seniority of the appointees in this recruitment, the appointment order shall be effective from the date of first issue of recruitment notification to the appointees of their batch. Notional seniority will continue from the date of joining of their original batch. However, they will not get any due financial benefits as a result.
It has also been said, ‘The authority reserves the right to amend/cancel the order as necessary if any adverse/different information is found against any officer appointed at a later date. If he has married or is engaged to marry a foreign national, the appointment letter shall be deemed to be void.
‘A declaration containing details of all movable and immovable property owned or occupied by the candidate and his family members shall be submitted to the concerned Cadre Controlling Ministry at the time of joining the service. Apart from this, every five years in the month of December, the statement of decrease and increase of the property should be submitted to the Ministry of Cadre Control through the appropriate authorities.
The Public Works Commission recommended the appointment of those 259 people, but the Ministry of Public Administration did not appoint them citing various reasons.
