Given the persistence of heavy rains in the country’s capital, the Secretariat for Comprehensive Risk Management and Civil Protection (SGIRPC) issued a red alert for the municipalities of Álvaro Obregón, Magdalena Contreras and Tlalpan.

In the last few hours, rain has caused trees to fall in some areas of these municipalities, such as a 10-meter tree that fell on Desierto de los Leones and Ojo de Agua streets in the Santa Rosa Xochiac neighborhood, which required the presence of members of the CDMX Fire Department.

Authorities have urged the public to be alert to any rain that may occur between 7:25 p.m. and 11:00 p.m., to keep important documents safe and not to travel under bridges or in areas prone to flooding.

On the other hand, the SGIRPC also issued an orange alert for Azcapotzalco, Cuajimalpa, Gustavo A. Madero and Miguel Hidalgo and a Yellow Alert for Benito Juarez, Coyoacan Cuauhtemoc, Iztacalco, Iztapalapa, Milpa Alta, Tlahuac, Venustiano Carranza and Xochimilco.
