Red Bull presented the hypercar RB17 with a power of 1200 horsepower at a weight of only 890 kilograms! The car, which has already sold out of its full run of 50 units for £5m (€5.8m) before tax, is not road-legal but will offer its wealthy owners the same level of excitement like a Formula 1 car on a track. The engine for the car was developed with the participation of the Cosworth company.
The car has a carbon fiber monocoque, active suspension and movable aerodynamic elements that allow the center of aerodynamic pressure to be changed on the fly for faster cornering.
The naturally aspirated V10 4.5-litre petrol engine is assembled by Cosworth and has torque up to 15,000rpm. The power is 1000 horsepower, with another 200 provided by the electric motor built into the transmission. It not only assists the internal combustion engine in acceleration, but also works in starter mode, in first gear and is responsible for reverse movement. The gearbox is a Red Bull carbon fiber sequential with Xtrac gears.
The warranty of this hypercar is 2 years or only 4000 km…
